Spring Events at Ringgold!

Ringgold Park is planning a season full of fun events. Please mark your calendars and join us!

Sunday, April 16:  Our annual Egg Hunt. Let your kids search for candy-stuffed eggs in the play area and shake hands with a life-sized bunny.

Saturday, May 6:  Boston Shines Clean-up. The city provides the mulch, FORP provides the tools, and neighbors band together to beautify the park.

Saturday, June 17: Fête de la Musique and South End Garden Tour. We’re honored to serve as a stop for both this year. More details to come…

Halloween Party at Ringgold Park!

The annual Halloween Party at Ringgold Park is happening on Monday, October 31st at 5pm. This is always a fun event and a great way to kick off Halloween–with costumes, friends, neighbors and food donated by local businesses. Hope you can join us!

We’ll have pizza, sliders, veggies, fruit, snacks, juice, and water for the kids to fill up on before the candy craziness, plus some coffee to energize the adults.

Sincere thanks to our generous donors: Upper Crust Pizzeria, Picco, Foodie’s Markets, b.good and Caffe Nero.

Trick-or-treating will start at approximately 6pm, and Waltham Street will again be closed to traffic.

Before, during or after the party, please also consider making a donation to the Friends of Ringgold Park, a non-profit group dedicated to preserving this precious neighborhood resource. All funds raised go toward maintaining the park’s horticulture and playgrounds and hosting community events like this one.

For those who’d like to get more involved, we’re also looking for event volunteers and board members. Please email ringgoldpark@gmail.com if you’re interested.

Help Us Keep Ringgold Clean and Septic!

Please help us to keep Ringgold clean by reporting any overflowing or misuse of the trash bins to the City of Boston. You can call 311 or download the app from here.
We would also appreciate it if park-goers, young and old, refrained from feeding the birds (since seeds or crumbs attract other animals) and from using chalk on the fountain, as well as the granite benches around it (since they were designed for people to sit on).

Fall Fundraiser Success!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Fundraiser and Paver Sale Launch Party on November 16. Turnout was terrific and we raised a total of $20,245 through ticket sales, corporate sponsorships and a silent auction, all of which will go toward maintaining the horticulture, irrigation and other features of our beloved park and playground and to hosting regular community events. Special thanks to The Beehive for hosting!

We also greatly appreciate the contributions of our corporate sponsors: Brian Roberts Construction, Cabral Wellness Institute, Compass Realty, Gerald Pomeroy Interiors, Hingham Savings, Lemanski Construction, P&G Properties, RBA Architecture.

And we’re thankful for all items and gift cards donated to our silent auction by local South End businesses:  Barcelona, Boston Chops, Franklin Café, Gaslight, Stephi’s on Tremont, Sara Campbell, Kent Newton Salon, Patch NYC, Etant, M. Flynn, Roosters, Wine Emporium, Sons of Liberty, Chicken & Rice Guys, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Fromaggio, The Buttery, Stir, Reimagine Play, NABI Music Center, Urbanity Dance, Little Groove/Baby Wiggle, Little Lovage Club, Steven Cabral Studio, Cabral Wellness Institute, Shawmut Yoga, Tadpole, Morgan & Milo.

If you couldn’t attend the event but would still like to buy an engraved paver for the park’s central fountain circle, please click here to download the order form and follow the instructions.

Paver Sale Launch Party November 16

Please join us for a Fall Fundraiser on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 6pm to 9pm at the Beehive. Tickets to the event cost $40 in advance (by clicking on the button below) or $50 at the door.
Eventbrite - Friends of Ringgold Park Paver Sale Party

At the event, we’ll be selling a second, and final, round of engraved pavers to be placed on the fountain plaza. If you missed the first round, this is your chance to leave your family’s mark on the park or commemorate a loved one. Pavers can be purchased at the November 16th Fundraiser or by simply downloading the online form before the deadline of January 31, 2016.

Please click here to download the PAVER ORDER FORM and follow the instructions.

Pavers cost $500 each and all proceeds are used to maintain the horticulture and irrigation in the park.  We’re also pleased to announce that the manufacturer of the pavers has agreed replace all of the original ones, free of charge, since many have worn away prematurely, and the company has now switched to a more durable material.
